- The Tango, an innovative new augmentative communication device, is providing children with the opportunity for increased communication engagement, which in turn is leading to longer and more gratifying interactions. This session will highlight the Tango Framework of social, linguistic, and educational competency, providing children who use AAC a well balanced language foundation.

Room 217 A Different Approach and Choice when Considering Text-to-Speech

- Come learn about WYNN 5.1, one of the easiest to use options for learning when reading is an issue. We'll review the software basics and WYNN's built-in tools for reading, writing and studying. Then we'll move to the Internet to address student learning using multiple modalities. WYNN's new built-in Web
tools will be used to enhance comprehension of Web content/research, extract key information, and assist in learning and writing. Additionally, TestTalker, an accommodation tool for testing from quizzes to FCAT, will be demonstrated.

Room 313 Explore the Possibilities of the New ECO 14 from PRC

- PRC's ECO-14 is the only integrated Windows XP and AAC device that allows the vocabulary program to serve as the user's onscreen keyboard for accessing personal computing software. Come learn about its other powerful communication features such as: pre-programmed Unity and WordCore vocabulary, word and next word prediction, vocabulary masking capabilities, and the Learning Scene application.

We will discuss how to make it easy for teachers and students to use the integrated Extron, Avermedia, and Smart technologies seamlessly.
Room 318 Early Literacy Skills Builder

- Early Literacy Skills Builder is a unique emerging-literacy intervention program for elementary students with significant disabilities (including cognitive and developmental disabilities, autism; and students who are nonverbal and/or using alternative/augmentative communication). This presentation will describe the research upon which the program was designed, the curriculum components, and the scope and sequence of the program. Ways in which educators can collaborate to provide for the language and literacy needs of this population will be discussed and specific adaptations will be presented.
Room 326 Low-Tech Adaptations to the Learning Environment for Young Children with Profound Handicaps

- Learn simple ways to enhance the usefulness of commercially-made adaptive toys and voice output devices for children with profound handicaps. Improved access through mounting and stabilizing of learning materials will be demonstrated through a digital photo presentation. A display will feature both
commercially-made and home-made devices and sensory toys.
